Daily Journaling

journaling tools for nervous system regulation Dec 30, 2025

As we step into a new year—and honestly, into a time where life itself feels like it’s changing faster than ever—

I want to offer you a simple challenge:

Start a journal.......!

Or, if you already have one…

keep going......

Maybe even treat yourself,

to a shiny, new, fat

journal to begin this chapter with intention.

I believe journaling .....

is one of the most powerful tools we have to explore who we are becoming in real time.

A journal helps you articulate why you feel the way you do.

It can interrupt old attitude patterns before they spiral.

And over time, it becomes a living record of your growth.

I’ll be honest—there have been moments when writing my thoughts down made me realize how ridiculous I was being.

Perspective gained. Disaster averted. 😄

Since we started Source & Love, I’ve learned a lot about myself.

I’ve always been creative and I love bringing ideas to life—but in the beginning, I mostly played the support role: building the website, setting up systems, figuring out the systems (and then figuring them out again).

As time went on, I felt more inspired to step forward—to make videos, to write, to share ideas. Even now, months in, I’m still finding my voice…

and I’m enjoying that process.

I’ve also had the privilege of watching John transform from the very beginning

—refining his message,

clarifying what he’s here to share.

It’s been incredible to witness that evolution unfold.

These kinds of transformations are often most obvious when we start a new business, career, or adventure—but the truth is, we are always being shaped.

By our beliefs. By our experiences. And by how we interpret what happens to us.

During this time, I kept what I call a “baby book” journal for Source & Love.

I recorded milestones: our first likes, our first meaningful interactions, our first customer. The day we decided to scrap everything we’d just spent a month building and start over.

Whenever I feel discouraged or tired, I go back and read those pages

—and every time, I feel better.

The progress is undeniable. And I’m reminded how much joy there was in the journey.

That’s the value of journaling.

It gives you a place to capture milestones, emotions, highs, lows

—and to work through why you feel the way you do.

Sometimes, when I write honestly, I realize my initial reaction was completely off base.

Or I discover that what I thought I was feeling… wasn’t the truth at all.

Our thinking mind only knows the past.

Its job is to protect us, to scan for danger based on previous experience.

But when you put thoughts onto paper, something different happens. You slow down. You search for the right words. You refine what you’re really trying to say.

That process alone can shine a light on faulty reasoning, hidden fears, and—just as importantly, what truly excites you.

So here’s my invitation:

Try journaling for one month.

Beginning on January 1st.

Write every day. Don’t reread it until the month is over.

When you go back, you may be surprised. You’ll likely see growth, insight, patterns, or truths you couldn’t see while you were in them. And to me, that’s part of the purpose of life—to learn, to grow, to become more aware of who we are.

Who knows? Over time, it might even inspire you to try something new… or finally follow a lifelong dream.

If journaling is new for you, it can feel awkward at first.

Later, you may need more pages and a much fatter book (ask me how I know). But in the beginning, it might take a minute to get going.

To support you, I’ll be sharing journaling prompts throughout this first month.

Use your own or borrow one of mine—just write.

Once it becomes a habit, you may be surprised by what rises to the surface: Healing. Truth. Fears. Dreams. And so much more.

Breathe. Write. Listen

Your body remembers the way.
